Leigh Buchanan

Leigh Buchanan Franny - Golden Summer Light Rye Combustion

Grew up in rural Ontario, with its plentiful dairy farms, cornfields, and dramatic seasons. Influences include flamenco dance, music, portraiture, Lautrec and the Impressionists, etchings, vintage illustrations and posters, my (rather large) family, all things natural, the British Columbia coast, whimsy, wonderful prose.

"I like the fact that there are many ways of living, and so many "beings" doing the living. I can learn more by becoming involved through observation. For my acrylic paintings, I use models, memories, dreams, and photographs. Ideas evolve as I paint, along with my painting process."

Leigh has work in numerous private collections.
